Sheila Tso somehow fit twenty-two pieces of Kingman turquoise into one pair of earrings—and then made the entire thing weigh only 17 grams.
Each earring begins with a three-stone turquoise post, drops into a large oval cabochon framed in twisted silver wire, and finishes with a wide, articulated constellation of seven additional stones. They’re three inches of unapologetic turquoise, but every section moves independently, so they feel fluid rather than rigid.
Why This Piece Matters
These earrings demonstrate how thoughtfully Sheila constructs her larger statement pieces.
Rather than mounting everything onto one heavy silver plate, she divided each earring into three articulated sections. That construction distributes the weight, introduces movement and allows the Kingman turquoise to catch the light from constantly changing angles.
The cabochons vary naturally in shape, size and matrix, but the intense blue color unifies the composition. Tiny silver drops punctuate the spaces between the stones, adding dimension without distracting from the turquoise.

Curator’s Field Observation
The central oval stones give the earrings their long vertical line, while the wider seven-stone clusters below create the visual impact. Sheila connected those sections at two points, allowing the lower clusters to sway while keeping them facing forward.
At just 8.5 grams per earring, this pair achieves an unusually strong size-to-weight balance. The three-stone post tops also distribute the earrings’ visual weight across a broader area, helping the substantial design feel secure on the ear.
Eric’s Notes from the Field
Twenty-two Kingman stones. Three inches long. Seventeen grams for the entire pair.
That math is fucking excellent 😂
These have all the scale and presence of a serious turquoise chandelier, but Sheila engineered them so they actually move—and so wearing them doesn’t become an endurance event. I love the huge clean ovals in the middle, the little constellation of stones below, and those tiny silver drops tucked into the composition.
They’re joyful, dramatic and extremely blue. Basically, your earrings enter the room about four seconds before you do.
